At approximately 10:14 AM on Nov 2, 2022, the EOU IT Infrastructure Team began noticing elevated errors in various systems across the EOU campus network and began investigating. By 11:34 AM, we had identified that one of our campus server network links was repeatedly losing connectivity and causing severe packet loss. We then shut the link down and the affected systems became stable.
Tonight between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM, we performed additional maintenance and troubleshooting on the link and determined what network component was responsible for the disruption. The failing component has been replaced and the link has been brought back online.
We will keep an eye on the situation to ensure the network remains stable.
