Update
The first stage of the upgrade is complete: one third of the servers involved have been upgraded to the target software version. We have prioritized the upgraded server for authentication requests, and we will allow this to run overnight to make sure we have not introduced any major issues. Any noticeable disruptions, barring a complete system crash, should have occurred already (or should continue going forward). Please submit an IT support case if you are experiencing issues trying to connect to the WiFi.

Maintenance has been scheduled for EOU Wireless Authentication Services.

A complete system software upgrade will be performed, starting Friday after 5pm. The maintenance will take several hours, and some minimal disruption is expected during the upgrade. While the upgrade is expected to take several hours on Friday Evening, the entire maintenance window has been reserved to account for unexpected issues that may arise.

The upgrade process takes system redundancy into account, meaning that if all goes well, EOU Wi-Fi users should not notice anything out of the ordinary during the upgrade.

Possible noticeable disruptions are:
- During a critical period during the process, the system database will be set to read-only mode. This should only prevent the registration of new EOU-Guest user accounts and devices. This will be unavoidable, and this service will become available after the upgrade has been completed.
- The upgrade will "roll" across a cluster of several servers. Some authentication requests may take longer than expected, or need to be retried during this process.
- In the unlikely event that the process needs to be rolled back or re-started, the system will be more likely to experience a temporary outage.

Updates will be posted as more information becomes available.
